"Finding a good salon can be difficult, finding one that's willing to try something a little 'out of box' is almost impossible. Elysium is one of those rare gems. I had always wanted to try a particular colour for my hair. It involved multiple fashion colours and was applied using an ombre or wetblock technique. When I enquired online I sent a youtube clip of a LA artist applying a similar look to what I wanted and asked if they thought it possible. The guys at Elysium were quick to reply and were extremely positive that it could be done. After my initial consultation with Molly I wasblown away with her professionalism and enthusiasm and overall positive nature. She seemed to have gone above and beyond when researching what I wanted and had a few excellent suggestions for me that I hadn't considered. It took a while for my hair to be done (not surprisingly. It involved bleaching and the application of several different colours) but the atmosphere in the salon was great and I was well attended to, so never felt bored or forgotten about like I sometimes do at other salons. The time flew by and when complete I was blown away with the result! I loved it, it was exactly wanted only better!! The girls even gave me a few colour stay tips that kept the blues, purples and pinks in my hair for over a month without much fading. If your into your fashion colours (they use Manic panic) and like to break the mold or even if your looking for a particular style that you've always wanted to try, give the talented stylists at Elysium a call. From the initial enquiry to when you walk out the door with your dream look; these guys know how to look after you!"

"I had my regrow hair dyed and fringe cut this time and everything was absolutely great. Colour product was gental (didn't have intense bad smell and wasn't irritate my scalp ) The hair treatment was amazing. Scalp massage was so relaxing and the hot towel wrap your hair in the end just to die for. The price was slightly higher than I expected but all worth it after all. Will definitely recommended to my friends!!! Thank you Elysium!! see you guys in 6 weeks!"

"Wonderful salon with very talented and focused and friendly people. They take care of your overall experience from the moment you walk in. They thoroughly assess your needs and carry them out with skill. The people work as a team so the main stylist is in charge, but everyone works together to make your experience thoroughly enjoyable. Products are suggested and they have them in stock so that is handy. They offer you a menu of beverages while you're there and that is something unique. I make the trip from the Sunshine Coast every couple months which tells you something."

Expert Tips

Brunette is anything but basic this year—think richer and bolder, and simultaneously strong yet understated. Deep, dark with subtle amber dimension adds an instant glow that warms up fair and olive complexions.

Ecaille has a major head start in the color game this year, crowned superior by stars like Chrissy Teigen, Blake Lively and Jessica Alba. French for tortoiseshell, this trending color is comprised of rich, warm tones—gold, caramel, chocolate, honey, mahogany—painted (not foiled) into the hair for a multidimensional effect.

All-over pastel manes are standing down to subtler, nuanced casts of jewel-toned streaks. When worn in loose, effortless waves, these iridescent light-catchers are soft, dreamy and best of all—low-maintenance.

Honey Bunny Blonde. It's 2015's easy-on-the-hair alternative to arctic platinum; essentially the sweet spot between butterscotch amber and wheat blonde. The effect is a healthy flaxen (almost caramel) hue that's universally flattering on most skin tones.

Think Mink. The cooler, gray-ash tresses seen on the catwalk may actually stake a mainstream claim this year. Done tastefully, the look is part subdued, part rebellious, yet surprisingly chic, thanks to its pearly, iridescent, multi-tonal finish.

Rock the "Ronze" Celebs like Emma Stone, Kate Mara and Jessica Chastain are calling it: Metallic reds are on fire this year. These award season stunners showcased traditional red hues highlighted with hints of bronze (hence the "ronze") and copper for a glimmering, ultra-glossy effect.

Oh, Baby Babylights Say bye-bye to balayage; meet its even cooler successor: babylights. Coined by colorist Jack Howard at London's Neville Hair & Beauty Salon, they emulate effortlessly sun-kissed hair by very naturally highlighting fine-woven strands. Regrowth is subtle—it's basically the perfect look for the non-committal.

Go For The (Rose) Gold. Not quite punk, yet not quite pastel, the increasingly popular peach-like shade runs the gorgeous gamut from entry-level statement hair to dazzling standout. (Depending on your desired hue, colorists typically create this peachy-pink look by blending creamy blondes with rosy pink to achieve the multidimensional look.)
